Who we are

This policy covers Averted Vision LLC ("we", "us"), the Puddle app, and our websites, avertedvisionstudio.com and puddlewatercolor.com. If you have questions, email hello@avertedvisionstudio.com.

What Puddle collects

Your paintings

Paintings, including the recording of your brushstrokes, are saved on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync, they are stored in your personal iCloud account under Apple's privacy terms. We can't see paintings stored on your device or in your iCloud.

Anonymous usage statistics

Puddle sends anonymous statistics to help us improve the app, such as which tools are used, how long sessions last, frame rate, device model and app version. These are not linked to your name, email or Apple ID, and never include your paintings or brushstrokes. You can turn this off at any time in Puddle's settings.

Crash reports

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple sends us crash reports and basic diagnostics. Apple anonymizes this information before we receive it.

Paintings you submit

If you tap "Submit to feature", we receive that painting, its brushstroke recording and the name or handle you enter. We use it only to consider featuring your painting on our website, social media and App Store page, with credit to you. Nothing is uploaded unless you submit it. You can ask us to remove a submission at any time.

Purchases

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made, but never your payment details.

Emails you send us

If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, and use it only to reply.

Our websites

Our websites are hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the sites. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

If you join the Puddle waitlist, we store your email address and any optional answers you give, and use them only to send news about Puddle. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent your information.
• We don't show ads or share data with advertisers.
• We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• We don't use your paintings or brushstrokes to train AI.

Who else processes data

We rely on a small number of service providers, and share only what each needs to do its job:

• Apple, for App Store purchases, iCloud sync and crash reports.
• [Analytics provider], for anonymous usage statistics.
• Cloudflare, for website hosting and email forwarding.
• [Email list provider], for the Puddle waitlist.

We may also disclose information if required by law.

How long we keep it

Anonymous statistics are kept for up to two years. Submitted paintings are kept while they may be featured, or until you ask us to remove them. Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Support emails are kept as long as needed to help you.

Your choices and rights

You can turn off anonymous statistics in Puddle's settings, turn off iCloud sync in your device settings, and unsubscribe from emails at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete information we hold about you. To make a request, email hello@avertedvisionstudio.com.

Children

Puddle isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how we handle your information, we'll also tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
